This early 1895 Machine Gun Patent which would later be know as the "Potato Digger" because of the action at the front of the weapon when ejecting and loading rounds. If held low, the Machine Gun's Mechanism would dig the earth. The gun has a storied past and was the weapon used in the Ludlow Massacre in an attack against striking miners and their families by the Colorado National Guard and Colorado Fuel and Gas Company Guards.
This firearm was one of John Browning's many innovative firearms designs. The patent has been restored and placed on a distressed background for display. It is a piece of Americana that will display well on any wall.
