Description
The Father of Rivers ( and I don't mean Joan) is the Mississippi River. This image is a view looking north along the banks of the great river south of the town of Vicksburg. It is the river Samuel Clemens allowed Huck Finn and Big Jim to navigate with nothing but a raft. It is the site of some of the most horrific battles in the Civil War, and the town of Vicksburg lay under siege from its waters. From Minnesota to the Louisiana Coast on its way to the Gulf, the river and its tributaries meander.
This view of the great river shows the twin bridges that join Mississippi to Louisiana in Vicksburg to the north and the clay and sand banks that descend down to the often murky water. With history made and more to come, Old Man River keeps on Rolling.
This image is available in sizes up to 60 inches X 40 inches. It would make a welcome addition to any home or office wall.
