The USS America (LHA 6) was built at the Northrop Grumman Ingalls Shipbuilding facility in Pascagoula, Mississippi. The vessel is an Amphibious Assault Ship. Its Standard Configuration is:

Thank God for the men and women who have the skill and talent to build defensive machines like this to help combat and deter would be terrorist and aggressive countries. Too often we forget about the workers that provide for our safety.
My Mother was a tacker at the old Ingalls Shipyard during WWII while my Father served the US Navy in the South Pacific. Later my Father helped Loft the first Nuclear Submarine built at Ingalls.
